Stage 2 – Road Race
(Sunday, January 14, 2024)
122.3 km – 1,617 m vertical
A demanding stage towards the Northeast of Chiang Mai on the highway towards Chiang Rai. Two longer and mainly dragging climbs will have to be mastered until we’ll reach the finish line for what may well be a sprint finish at Doi Saket

Details
- Start at Chiang Mai University campus, at 3 km from the Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai
- Rolling Start exiting the Campus at Huaykaew Road exit and then making a left onto “Chiang Mai Super Highway” at km 2.5
- Make a left at km 8.5 merging into the Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai highway
- Restart location per peloton TBC – total racing distance TBC
- The first real climb starts at km 43 and will last about 18 km with a total vertical ascent of 600 m – 3% average grade
- After a gradual downhill of about 12 km you will reach the U-turn at Ban Pong Hot Springs at km 73
- The 12 km climbing on the way back will make you climb about 400 m vertical ascent, once again 3% average.
- The last 28 km to the finish line will mainly be downhill albeit interrupted a few short counter climbs
- Those of you having joined the Masters Tour of Chiang Mai might recognise the finish line which is at the same location as MTCM’s stage 1.
- After the trophy ceremony the vans will wait for your transfer back to the hotel including your bikes.

Stage 3 – Road Race – Summit Finish
(Monday, January 15, 2024)
119,00 km – 1,085 m vertical
A truly epic stage including an uphill finish to Doi Suthep Helipad.

Details
- Start at Chiang Mai University campus, at 3 km from the Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai
- Rolling Start
- Restart per peloton by flagdown at km 5,0 (TBC)
- Riding South on “Canal Road” all the way past the Chom Thong intersection at km 40
- Continue straight on Hwy 116, then make a left at km 54.
- Head Northeast until km 66, where you make a right and then immediately a left turn merging onto the Superhighway.
- Follow the Superhighway all the way back to Chiang Mai and make a right at the Rincome Intersection at the Maya Shopping Center and then follow Huay Kaew Road approaching the Doi Suthep climb.
- The real fun starts at km 104 from where you will climb for the next 15 km with a total of almost 1,000 m vertical ascent.
- At the Helipad, just under Buphing Palace you will cross the finish line
